Retry Behavior - Finogates API Documentation

A delivery succeeds when your endpoint responds with a 2xx status within 10 seconds. Any other status, a timeout, or a connection error is retried. Redirects are not followed.

Schedule

Each event is attempted up to 7 times:

Attempt	Sent after the previous attempt
1	Immediately
2	~3 seconds
3	~1 minute
4	~12 minutes
5	~1 hour
6	~4 hours
7	~13 hours

Delays include a small random jitter. After the 7th failed attempt, the delivery is marked failed and is not retried.

Recommendations

Respond 2xx as soon as the event is received, and process it asynchronously.
De-duplicate by the event id — it is the same on every attempt.
Don’t rely on delivery order; use created_at.
